Art that inspires joy
In a world where we’re bombarded with bad news on a constant 24 hour cycle, it can feel like we are living in a terrible place at a terrible time. When we hear about climate change, it can feel like humanity is a terrible scourge on the world. When we hear about war and terrorism it can feel like we are surrounded by evil people doing evil things. When we hear about infringements on women’s and LGBTQ rights it can feel like we are moving backwards, not forwards.
Why stay alive when everything is so bad?
Art, for me, has always been the counter to this existential crisis . Human beings are incredible creatures, and we are capable of great creativity, collaborative problem solving, and beautiful expression. Art shines a light through the dark times we are experiencing as a species.
I make art to inspire joy, to inspire hope, and to inspire both myself and others to keep on creating. Art has been the antidote to my depression, and given me a reason to get up every morning and keep fighting for the world I want to live in.
So if you are in need of a little spark of colour, joy and hope, then please take a look at my art shop.
