Introducing my new project ‘Embodied’

At the end of March, I turn 39, and the countdown to 40 begins.

This year-long period is ripe for reflection, so I intend to use it on a new art project that I’m calling ‘Embodied’.

I spend a lot of my time feeling totally dissociated from my body. I often feel like my ‘self’ is all in my mind, at most my head, and that the rest of my body is a big lump that I have to carry around and gets in my way.

This project will involve a deep self-investigation and excavation of my body issues. It will also explore consciously becoming more embodied, inhabiting my whole body rather than just my head.

I’m going to explore different approaches to embodiment, trying new things, and writing about them in this blog. I will also record videos for my YouTube channel wherever possible.

Ultimately, I hope that this project will enable me to finally finish the memoir that I’ve been working on for years! The theme of the book veers strongly in the same direction as this project. Here are some spreads from my draft memoir:

I hope you will join me as I embark on this quest for self-discovery and embodiment. I look forward to sharing my progress with you.
